| Tournament and Rules Information 3/09/2010 Facility Information Location: Pender High School - 609 Maple Street, Pender Entrances: You CAN enter from either the north (Main Entrance),South (Gym Entrance) or East. Look for signs directing you to the doors. Doors Open: Friday @ 4:30PM Saturday @ 7:30AM Sunday @11:30AM Admission: $2.00 for adults and students / children Under 5 FREE Food: Concession Stand will be AVAILABLE We will be SERVING EGG OMELETES ON SATURDAY MORNING STARTING @ 7:30AM / Cost is $3.00 per person Merchandise Vendor: Lou's Sports from Fremont will be on site Saturday and Sunday during scheduled game times Medals: Awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places per bracket (view medals @ the Information table) Door Prizes: Will be available during the tournament and winners POSTED at the INFORMATION TABLE Program Books: FREE - while supplies last COACHES INFORMATION Coaches PLEASE register at the Information Table before playing any scheduled games for the day Please pick up Coaches Packet from Information Table TOURNAMENT STAFF will be wearing " EVENT STAFF " shirts for questions or assistance Teams need to be ready to play thirty (30) minutes before game time except for 1st games of the day Score sheets are required for each game Teams MUST suppy THEIR OWN WARM UP BALLS - have them marked clearly Each is asked to provide a scorekeeper except for MEDAL AWARD GAMES - Pender Booster Club will provide scorekeepers in medal games (Score sheets and pencils will be available from the Information table) Ask that players and parents please CLEAN UP YOUR AREAS AFTER EACH GAME - THANKS Hospitality Room is available Brackets It is important to look at the Date - Game Time - Gym Location - DO NOT FOLLOW POSTED GAME NUMBERS - ie: Game Numbers are for tournament usage ONLY We will update the brackets through out the tournament. Tournament Responsibile Game balls will be a 28.5 oz (girls ball) and provided by the tournament Teams are guaranteed a minimum of two games with your registration Weather There is link on the web site www.penderbooster.com If inclement weather forces cancellation of any part, or the whole tournament, the gym has been reserved for March 28th and 29th. We will call, email, and post changes on the web site. TOURNAMENT GAME RULES Regular basketball rules are used except as listed below Regulation Game 6 minute periods - Clock stops on time outs and referee whistles 5 Minutes Halftime (may be shortened depending time) 1 minute between periods 2 minutes between regular game and overtime period LANE VIOLATION - 4th, 5th, and 6th grade divisons = 5 seconds Time Outs: 2 FULL / 1 THIRTY per game Full Court Press - 4th - 5th - 6th Grade Divisions No full court press allowed until the last three (3) minutes of the 4th period. In the last three (3) minutes of the 4th period both teams can press if they are within 10 points of each other or by the team down by 10 or more points. 7th and 8th Grade Divisions May full court press any time by both teams if they are within 15 points of each other A team with a 15 or MORE point lead MUST retreat to half court. Overtime Periods - 2 minutes Jump ball starts overtime(s) Limit to ONE (1) FULL timeout in the overtime period. Clock stops on all referee whistles. If score is tied after 1st overtime - 2nd overtime will be SUDDEN DEATH GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS EXPECTED FROM EVERYONE - PLEASE REMEMBER THAT MOST ALL INVOLVED ARE VOLUNTEERS AND HELPERS INCLUDING YOURSELF. REMOVAL FROM THE FACILITIES WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE TOURNAMENT COORDINATORS |
